Ideas for the Tiro Collection first originated in 2022, Studio Indigo drew inspiration from the natural wonders of the Italian landscape, particularly the captivating crater lakes of the Dolomites.
These serene rock pools, shaped over centuries by the gentle caress of flowing water, serve as the muse behind the collection’s distinctive stepped detailing. Bearing the Italian word for ‘pull,’ each piece of the Tiro Collection embodies the fluid motion of water, invoking a sense of tranquillity and elegance.
As prototypes were created and tested, the most successful method discovered was to press forge the shapes, making a unique die to achieve the rugged texture, and forming the blanks out of iron.
Initially considering a glass inlay to mimic lake water, practical tests led to a more rugged, natural aesthetic, where the distinct markings and texture of each piece can truly be appreciated.
The journey from conception to creation was a collaborative endeavour, with Studio Indigo and Joseph Giles seamlessly blending their expertise and vision. Drawing upon their shared commitment to craftsmanship and artistry, the collaboration resulted in a collection that transcends mere hardware, becoming a true reflection of nature’s raw beauty.
