The original layout of the house was reinstated and new uses found for old to suit a more contemporary way of life. The front facades were cleaned and repaired whilst the rear façade was transformed by the removal of the garden extension revealing the towering 5 storey-bay window. The house was quickly nicknamed the ‘lighthouse’. The biggest transformation was the internal appearance which included the restored period details, new services, joinery, kitchens and bathrooms. Strong colours and bold patterns are used throughout the house as a back drop to the twentieth century furniture and modern art. As you enter, the grand entrance hall has a contemporary rock and roll theme with a surprising traditional chandelier made from metal and mud beads. Unconventional features like this gives the house personality, style and uniqueness.
