Studio Indigo Announces Award at KLC 2020 Graduation
Studio Indigo were delighted to announce the award for Design Innovation at the KLC Graduate Show 2020 on the 21st July.
The school, which was founded almost 40 years ago, provides relevant industry training, giving prospective designers the tools and experience to forge their careers. This year’s show featured over 100 talented graduates showcasing their projects and design work from the BA (Hons) Interior Design, Foundation Degree Interior Design, Diploma HE Interior Design and Certificate Residential Interior Design groups.
This year, the Graduation show took place virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and KLC worked tirelessly to create a show that the students would not forget. Instructing the help of leading Industry figures to present and award students for their efforts and design skills; included Katherine Pooley, Taylor Howes, Sophie Paterson, and David Nicholls of House & Garden Magazine, amongst others.
The team at Studio Indigo had a tough time deciding between shortlisted students of the Online Foundation Degree Course and were impressed with the level of work displayed in the portfolios. The pre-recorded video starring James Kandutsch, CEO and Melissa Hamilton, Interior Design Director announced two students:
Kate Fulford : Highly Commended for producing a great body of work
Kerry Lyon: Winner of the Studio Indigo Design Innovation Award
Both James and Melissa had unanimously agreed that Kerry’s attention to detail was clearly articulated through a remarkable presentation which showed thorough design research and creative solutions.
The award is also accompanied by one month’s internship to work at the Chelsea-based practice which will provide invaluable experience to kick-start Kerry’s career within the Interior Design industry.
Studio Indigo is so grateful for the opportunity and to be able to show our support for both KLC and for the new generation of interior designers.
