Pisa – Marble Trip

  • Pisa – Marble Trip

Studio Indigo travelled to Italy to select marble slabs for the Superyacht project they are currently working on.

They visited several marble yards in and around Viareggio.  The area is famous for white marble, in particular one called “Carrara”.  As Viareggio lies on the coast, the yards also ship in marble from around the world, so the choice of marble is huge!

They also went to the Cervaiole marble quarry, which is where Michelangelo Buonorotti sourced most of his marble.

Whilst in Italy, they took the opportunity to visit the town of Pietrasanta, also known as “Little Athens”, which has many small artistic workshops and where one of the best mosaic producers in Italy has his workshop.
