Brigadoon Wins a World Superyacht Award! – May 2019
Studio Indigo is proud to announce that the 36m Dutch-built motor yacht Brigadoon has won Best Yacht in the ‘Semi-displacement or Planing Motor Yachts – 33m to 39.9m category’ at the World Superyacht Awards 2019.
This year’s awards ceremony, which marked the 14th edition of the World Superyacht Awards, was hosted by Boat International at the historic Old Billingsgate, with the River Thames and the iconic Tower Bridge providing a spectacular backdrop.
The 36-metre motor yacht Brigadoon is the first yacht built on the semi-custom Martinique line by Moonen Yachts and features naval architecture by Diana Yacht Design in collaboration with Réne Van Der Velden, with the latter also undertaking her exterior design. Nauta Design undertook the interior design, with Studio Indigo being responsible for the interior styling towards her completion. Her interiors feature clean lines and refined simplicity – perfect for a timeless vessel built for enjoying unique experiences with family and friends. Upon winning the prestigious Neptune, the judges praised “the sense of brightness and external views from an interior that was sophisticated, comfortable and welcoming”
Owner of Brigadoon said: “We’re thrilled enough to be nominated for this prestigious award and now utterly delighted we have won. However, the real credit goes to Moonen Shipyard and their team who created this wonderful yacht. Thanks to Diana Yachts, Réne Van Der Velden, Nauta Design and Studio Indigo”
The awards recognise excellence in yachting and are the highlight of the superyacht industry. Johan Dubbelman, CEO of Moonen Yachts, says: “To take a World Superyacht Award home to the Netherlands this year is fantastic, and something that we’re all extremely proud of. Brigadoon is a beautiful yacht, marking the future of our brand whilst truly embodying everything that Moonen Yachts is renowned for – elegant design, great performance and unparalleled safety. We thank Brigadoon’s owners for their trust in Moonen, and to all the talented teams at Diana Yacht Design, Réne Van Der Velden, Nauta Design and Studio Indigo. We look back on a great collaboration, and it’s an honour for this synergy to be recognised with this win at the World Superyacht Awards 2019.”
Studio Indigo is incredibly proud and humbled to share this award with an amazing group of talented people who worked together to create superyacht quality in a 36-metre build.
Moonen is once again collaborating with Studio Indigo on Brigadoon’s sistership which is currently under construction in the Netherlands. The YN199 is available for sale and is scheduled for delivery early spring 2020.
